Cold Plunge & Sauna in Los Angeles: How to Choose a Studio
How to choose between Los Angeles's traditional sauna houses, private contrast rooms, multi-service recovery clubs, and a Koreatown hot springs spa, with what to confirm before booking.
By PlungeSpots editorial · How we research · Updated
Los Angeles spreads its sauna and cold plunge options across the city, from Venice to Koreatown to Sherman Oaks, and the formats differ as much as the neighbourhoods. Some venues are built around a single traditional sauna and cold tubs; others are recovery clubs where the plunge is one service among many.
This guide groups the Los Angeles venues in our directory by format and lists what to confirm before booking. It is not a ranking. We checked each venue's details against its own website on 9 October 2026; terms change, so confirm them with the operator.

Traditional sauna and cold tubs
Teddy's Hot House in Venice pairs a 195°F traditional Finnish sauna built from magnolia wood with cold plunge tubs, in 90-minute contrast sessions. Single drop-ins, multi-visit packs, and memberships are offered.
IcePass works differently: it is a membership network with Finnish sauna and cold plunge spaces at four host sites on the Westside, including inside gyms, booked and checked into by app for self-guided sessions. It suits regular users who live or work near a host site; check which sites are currently in the network.
Private contrast rooms
Pure Recovery Wellness Spa in Sherman Oaks has private contrast rooms with a choice of infrared or traditional sauna and a cold plunge, in 30- or 60-minute sessions, alongside LED light, IV, and compression services.
Elev8 Infrared in Beverly Grove offers 45-minute infrared sessions and a contrast room combining an infrared sauna, red light panel, cold plunge, and shower, sold as single sessions, packs, or 30-day passes.
If you have a preference between infrared and traditional heat, confirm which one your booking includes. Our traditional versus infrared guide explains the differences to ask about.
Recovery clubs
Remedy Place West Hollywood offers guided ice baths, sauna suites, cryotherapy, IV drips, and breathwork ice bath classes, among other services. Non-members can book, and memberships and packages are offered.
Pause Studio West Hollywood offers contrast therapy with a cold plunge alongside cryotherapy, infrared sauna, float tanks, LED light, IV drips, and compression, booked individually or through credit-based memberships.
RVIVL in Playa Vista offers infrared sauna, an ice bath, contrast therapy, red light, compression boots, and IV drips, booked online with memberships available.
With multi-service clubs, confirm exactly what a booking or membership credit covers before comparing prices, and whether an ice bath session is guided or self-directed.
Hot springs spa
Beverly Hot Springs in Koreatown has a natural mineral hot springs pool, a cold plunge, a steam room, and a dry sauna, with massage and body treatments. Admission allows up to two hours, and Tuesdays are reserved for private bookings, so check the day before you go.
Infrared studio with a cold shower
Perspire Sauna Studio on South La Cienega offers private infrared sauna suites with red light and a cold shower, but no cold plunge. It is an option if you want infrared heat with a cold rinse rather than full immersion.
Booking and what to bring
Most of these venues sell single sessions alongside packs and memberships; compare the total cost and the commitment before signing up, using our membership or drop-in guide. For a first visit, our first-visit checklist covers the questions to ask, and what to bring covers packing and swimwear rules.
Cold water and heat are not suitable for everyone. If you have a health condition or any doubt, speak to a healthcare professional before booking.
How we compiled this guide
We list venues that offer sauna or cold plunge access to the public in the Los Angeles area and checked each one's facilities and booking model against its own website on 9 October 2026. We have not visited them, and inclusion is not an endorsement. Paid placements, if any, are labelled. Operators can suggest a correction. See our editorial policy.
