Your cookie choice itself is not stored in a cookie. We keep it in your browser's local storage, which means it stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Analytics

PlungeSpots uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are popular and how to improve the site. If you accept analytics cookies, Google sets two cookies — _ga and _ga_<measurement ID> — which last up to two years and let us recognise a returning browser so that repeat visits are not counted as new people.

Before you accept, no analytics cookies are set. The Google Analytics script does load on every page, but it runs in a restricted mode (Google Consent Mode) in which it is not permitted to read or write cookies or store any identifier on your device. In that mode it still sends Google a basic measurement signal — the page address, page title, referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device information such as screen size and browser — but with no cookie and no identifier that would let Google recognise you on a later visit. If you decline, it stays in this mode permanently.

Managing Cookies

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing consent stops any further analytics cookies being set; you can delete cookies already stored through your browser settings.

You can also control cookies through your browser directly. Most browsers allow you to block or delete them, though doing so may affect how parts of the site work.
