Who We Are
PlungeSpots ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at plungespots.com. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following information:
- Submission data — if you suggest a spot, we collect the information you provide in the form (name, address, contact details, and optionally your email)
- Analytics data — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, covering pages visited, time on site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device type. We ask for your consent before Google is allowed to store anything on your device; see the section below and our cookie policy for what happens if you decline
- Technical data — your IP address, browser type, and operating system may be collected automatically through server logs

Analytics and Your Consent
The Google Analytics script loads on every page, but until you accept analytics cookies it runs in a restricted mode (Google Consent Mode) in which it cannot read or write cookies or store any identifier on your device. In that mode Google still receives a basic measurement signal about the page view, but nothing that would let it recognise you on a later visit.
Accepting analytics cookies allows Google to set a persistent identifier so that repeat visits can be recognised. You can withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. Google may process this data outside the UK and EEA.
Data Sharing
When you choose to open a map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers. These requests expose technical information such as your IP address to that provider. City map markers represent directory coverage and do not use your device location.
Our site stores cookie choices, display preferences, favourites, and recently viewed profiles in your browser. These preferences are not submitted to us as a newsletter signup. The blog links to an RSS feed; if we enable a hosted newsletter signup, that provider's signup page explains its data handling.
Operator and manufacturer links take you to independent websites with their own privacy policies. Links identified as paid may contain an affiliate referral code so the seller can attribute a purchase. We do not receive your payment details from those links.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Google Analytics (usage data, as described above)
- Cloudflare (security and performance services)
- Our email service provider (for processing submissions)
